Clik here to view.After almost eight years, Google has decided to retire its RSS Reader. The initiative has been used by many people to get the latest updates about their business area, whatever it could be for a long time. Being suscribed by an account, customers were able to access their feeds RSS platform, having a wide overview about what was going on with their brands or in their market fields.
On March 13, Google notified users its decision in its official blog:
We launched Google Reader in 2005 in an effort to make it easy for people to discover and keep tabs on their favorite websites. While the product has a loyal following, over the years usage has declined. So, on July 1, 2013, we will retire Google Reader. Users and developers interested in RSS alternatives can export their data, including their subscriptions, with Google Takeout over the course of the next four months.
Although the announcement has surprised and even disappointed some users around the world, it is put in the frame of Spring Cleaning
strategy that the company is carrying out, just like it did in 2011 in order to focus their efforts into fewer products
. Nostalgic RSS platform users can still resorting to FeedReader or MyYahoo!.
