Will Your Social Data Last Forever On the Internet?

Social media is the ultimate expressions of the human interconnections, so it is a synonym of being alive. Still, death is not the most common topic to think about regarding the online world.

It is a reality that at some point we will disappear from earth, leaving a trace. On the Internet. It is even usual to find some social data or profiles that last longer than their owners. The same way people do with the life insurances, for example, it could be useful for friends and family if you think what will happen with your social data after passing away.

Actually, some enterprises have planned about the issue, as Google. The company has created a way to control this data if you spend few minutes to organize it.

They have called the tool Inactive Account Manger and is possible to find it in the Google account. The idea is that you can tell Google to delete your messages or data related to your Google services (Blogger, Google+Profiles, YouTube, etc) after a chosen period of inactivity. Their blog also states that “you can select trusted contacts to receive data”.
